The controversial movie "Kerala Story" was banned by Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Singapore banned the controversial Indian film, The Kashmir Files, for its “provocative and one-sided portrayal” of Muslims. Similarly, The Malayalam film titled 'T P 51', which portrays the life of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader(RMP) TP Chandrashekharan , who was stabbed to death with 51 stab wounds in his body, was on an undeclared ban. Now Empuraan is cornered and forced to make 17 cuts in the film to satisfy some weak minds! Did CM Pinarayi Vijayan care to watch TP 51 to promote freedom of speech? Did the BJP or Modi make Empuraan tax-exempt ? Both ideologies conveniently banned and promoted movies that aligned with their narrative and fueled their agenda. In India, there is no right wing or true capitalist system; all are different forms of Left and Socialism! The leader of a political party which has held power power for the better part of the independent India is saying that our bureaucratic entry system isn’t fair to Dalits, OBS or tribals!
